Intensive vs. Post-Intensive – What’s the Difference?
Intensive retreats include up to three hours of centering prayer each day, balanced with silence and solitude in community. They include viewing of the classic “Spiritual Journey” videos, an immersion in the conceptual background of the practice, as taught by Fr. Thomas Keating. The pre-requisite for an Intensive retreat is an established centering prayer practice for at least six months.
Post Intensive retreats provide an opportunity for even more intensive centering prayer, solitude and silence. No videos are shown. The pre-requisite is completion of an intensive retreat
COOP offers both intensive and post-intensive retreats of 5 days or more, often combined in the same retreat.
